JANUARY 23, 2024

The Mercer Messenger

highlight of the month

35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36

I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. -Matthew 25:35-36

We’ve kicked off this new year with dynamic discussions in our mission groups on restoring engagement and connection in our communities. This past Sunday we looked at scriptures that call on us to build in our neighborhoods, foster families of inclusivity, and serve the needs of those around us.

Our brother Paris shared that this time of scripture study was to wake us up to God’s exciting invitation as disciples in our communities. We want to encourage you to take this last week of the fast to ask God to help you see the needs in the spaces you live and work. How is God inviting you to participate in the work that He is already doing? Family, we pray we continue to grow in the love of God as we aim to bless others with the love He has shown us.
